Impressionism was a unique and revolutionizing type of art that originated in Paris, France, with Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and other famous painters. Most of these artists worked outside of a studio, experimenting with bold colors and natural daylight. Although many of the art critics didn't like this new art, the people of France and many other countries enjoyed this bold new art.
The critics found this new art unfinished and messy, which was why they didn't like it. Impression wasn't the traditional way of art, which was why the first impressionist art exhibit was not a success. But the artists didn't let this bring them down, so they kept painting until the art world finally accepted it, and many of their works of art were put in art museums like The Louvre.
